Rollout planning

A new logo only counts once it is on the sign, the trucks and the website. We plan the order and prepare the files for each vendor.

Why plan it

Changing a brand at an established business touches a lot of vendors: the sign shop, the wrap installer, the embroiderer, the printer and whoever runs the website. Without a plan, the change drags on for years and the business ends up with two logos in use at once. A rollout plan sets the order, the files and the specs for each piece.

Three waves

We sort every touchpoint into three waves. The cheapest, most flexible pieces go first so the new look is in use quickly. Costly, long-lived pieces come last, after the design has proven itself in daily use.

Wave 1

Files and screens

Change these first. They cost little to swap and every later order is made from them.

  • Master logo files
  • Website header and favicon
  • Social profile images
  • Email signature
  • Document templates

Wave 2

Paper and cloth

Replace as current stock runs out, so nothing goes to waste.

  • Business cards
  • Invoices and quote forms
  • Shirts, caps and patches
  • Packaging and labels
  • Door hangers and flyers

Wave 3

Signs and vehicles

The costly, long-lived pieces. Book them once the design has settled in use.

  • Storefront sign
  • Vehicle doors and wraps
  • Yard and site signs
  • Window lettering
  • Building plaques

Files for each vendor

Web personSVG logo, favicon set, social images and color values in hex

Spreading the cost

A plan lets you stage the spend. Wave one is mostly design files. Wave two follows your normal reorder cycle, so you replace cards and shirts when you would anyway. Wave three can wait for a new vehicle, a lease renewal or a sign that needs repair. We note which pieces look worst next to the new brand, so you know what to move up the list.

Telling customers

For a refresh, most businesses say nothing. For a rebrand, a short note helps: a line on the website, a post, a card in the next mailing. We can draft the words and the graphics for it.

Questions

Do you install signs or wraps?

No. We plan the rollout and prepare the files. Your local vendors produce and install the pieces.

Can you talk to our vendors directly?

Yes, with your permission. Many questions about file formats and color matching are quicker to sort out that way.

Is the logo holding you back? Send photos of your sign, your vehicles and your website. We'll tell you whether it needs a refresh or a full rebrand.
