A refresh
A refresh keeps the idea of your current logo: the symbol, the general shape, the colors people link with you. We redraw it so it holds up. Thin strokes get heavier, crowded details get simpler, and the name is set in a typeface that reads well and can be licensed for business use. Colors are pinned to exact values for screen, print and paint.
Done well, most customers won't notice the change. They'll just think the sign looks sharp and the van looks newer.
A full rebrand
A rebrand is for when the old logo no longer describes the business. Common reasons: the name changed after a merger or a new partner, the business moved from one service into several, or the old mark carries something you'd rather leave behind. A rebrand builds a new mark, a new color set and type, and sometimes a new name or tagline.
Even then we look for something to carry over, such as a color, an initial or a shape, so long-time customers have a thread to follow.
Side by side
| Refresh | Full rebrand | |
|---|---|---|
| Logo | Redrawn from the current one | New mark, often with one element kept |
| Name | Kept | Kept or changed |
| Colors | Current colors, pinned and adjusted | New palette |
| Customer notice | Little | Plenty, so plan an announcement |
| Rollout effort | Replace as things wear out | A planned switch across signs, vehicles and web |
How we decide
The audit points the way. If most failures are about files and line weights, a refresh fixes them. If most failures are about matching, or the name no longer fits, a rebrand is worth weighing. You make the call, and the quote prices only the path you choose.
Files you get
- Horizontal, stacked and icon versions of the mark
- Full color, one color and reversed files for each
- Vector files (SVG, EPS, PDF) and PNG sets
- Color values for screen, print, paint and vinyl
- A short guide covering spacing, minimum size and what not to do
Questions
Can we start with a refresh and rebrand later?
Yes. A clean refresh is a good base, and a later rebrand can build from those files.
Who owns the new logo?
You do, once the job is paid. The quote spells out the transfer of rights.
Is the logo holding you back? Send photos of your sign, your vehicles and your website. We'll tell you whether it needs a refresh or a full rebrand.
